I am a dually board-certified family nurse practitioner and advanced public health nurse with nearly two decades of clinical experience in a number of specialties including addiction medicine, college health, family practice, maternal/newborn nursing, nursing education, pediatrics, school-based health care, and telehealth/telemedicine. Presently, I possess a multistate RN license and APRN licenses in five states (Louisiana, Alabama, Colorado, Michigan, and Tennessee). In 2002, 2007, 2014, and 2021, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Southern University and A&M College, a Master of Nursing degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center New Orleans, a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from The University of Alabama, a Post-Master's Certificate in Nursing Education from Excelsior College, and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Nursing Informatics from Chamberlain University respectively. When I am not functioning in the nurse practitioner, nurse educator, nurse entrepreneur, or healthcare consultant roles, I love to provide information to healthcare professionals, healthcare professional students, and healthcare consumers via blogging and writing.
