
ABOUT ME

I am a dually board-certified family nurse practitioner and advanced public health nurse with two decades of clinical experience in a number of specialties, including addiction medicine, college health, family practice, maternal/newborn nursing, nursing education, pediatrics, psychiatry/mental health, school-based health care, and telehealth/telemedicine. Presently, I possess a multistate RN license and APRN-CNP licenses in six states (Louisiana, Alabama, Colorado, Tennessee, Virginia, and Florida) with additional states pending. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Southern University and A&M College/Dolores Richard Spikes Honors College (Student Marshal), a Master of Nursing degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center New Orleans, a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from The University of Alabama, a Post-Master's Certificate in Nursing Education from Excelsior College, a Post-Graduate Certificate in Nursing Informatics from Chamberlain University, and a Post-Graduate Certificate with a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specialization from Frontier Nursing University. I am also a Distinguished Nursing Practitioner Fellow of the National Academies of Practice. When I am not functioning in the nurse practitioner, nurse educator, nurse entrepreneur, or healthcare consultant roles, I love to provide information to healthcare professionals, healthcare professional students, and healthcare consumers via blogging and writing.
